An illegal firework caused serious concern in Hawaii after it exploded beneath a Toyota 4Runner, all captured on camera. Police said the clip highlights the dangerous and unpredictable nature of illegal fireworks.
The video, recorded on October 16, shows a man crouching in his front yard as he lights a firework. Moments later, it shoots upward, loops erratically, and lands under the 4Runner. The man rushes toward it, but before he can intervene, the device detonates in a flash.
The Kaua‘i Police Department responded to the explosion around 11:30 a.m. local time. The man involved, identified as 24-year-old Bronze Robson, was later arrested and charged with Reckless Endangering in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor offense. His bail was set at $1,000.
No one was injured, but officials said the blast could have easily caused serious harm or property damage. Assistant Chief Darren Rose cautioned that such careless actions endanger both people and property, adding that illegal fireworks should never be used in residential areas.”
