Ferrari calls the F76 the “first digital hypercar,” perhaps forgetting its own Vision Gran Turismo concepts.
The NFT (or non-fungible token) craze has long since died down, leading many to realize, albeit belatedly, that digital tokens don’t actually have much value. Nevertheless, Ferrari has decided now is the right time to enter this space and has introduced a digital-only hypercar called the F76, which will be sold as an NFT.
The car was designed by the Ferrari Styling Center and takes its name from the 166 MM Barchetta that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans exactly 76 years ago, in 1949.
The company describes the process of creating the F76 as using “generative design,” although it’s unclear how much artificial intelligence is actually used in this process, or where it comes into play.

Ferrari’s recent design ventures, including the F80 and 849 Testarossa, have received mixed reactions. The F76 borrows elements from these models, but avoids any constraints of real-world rules, as it exists entirely in the virtual world.
Undoubtedly, the most striking element of the F76’s design is that the driver and passenger compartments are separate, allowing for a distinctive central channel that essentially allows the entire car’s body act like a large wing.
On the sides, deep gills and finely vented details are meant to smooth airflow and emphasize the car’s sculpted intent.

The front end has also received considerable attention, with a large wing extending between the front wheels. Ferrari has also included a pair of retractable headlights.
Interestingly, Ferrari claims that the F76’s “technical-stylish language” will influence future production cars. The brand describes this language as “a contrast between the tight, technical lines of the wings and the sculptural body,” enhanced through “mathematical optimizations managed by generative algorithms.” Exclusive and Hard-to-Find
Now comes the most interesting part of the story. The F76 is only available as an NFT from Ferrari, and only members of its elite Hyperclub program can buy it.
Each client was able to choose their preferred design, and received their NFT in exclusive drops throughout the program’s three years. Ferrari did not disclose how much its clients paid for their F76.
