Comedian Nikki Glaser has had a long and unique romance with her partner, producer Nikki Glaser boyfriend Chris Convy. Their relationship has spanned over a decade, marked by a history of working together, moving back to their St. Louis hometown, and splitting up-on and off-more than five times, as the comedian shared in May 2024.
Glaser has been open about her hesitation towards long-term commitment. On The Howard Stern Show in 2024, she explained that the “off and on” nature of their relationship stems from her fear that “committing to anything forever… makes me think of no other adventures.” Despite this, when asked if she was in love, Nikki Glaser confirmed an enthusiastic, “Oh yeah.”

The couple first met in 2013 while working on Glaser’s MTV show, Nikki & Sara Live, where Convy served as a producer. Both were from St. Louis, which was a point of connection. Glaser, who had recently quit drinking, initially dismissed Convy as being “too fun” until she realized he was sober. This revelation led her to develop a long-term “crush from afar,” which she likened to the Jim and Pam dynamic from The Office. Convy became her first serious boyfriend.
Their professional lives continued to overlap when Convy produced her 2016 Comedy Central series, Not Safe with Nikki Glaser. Ironically, the show’s cancellation coincided with one of their early breakups. Glaser reflected on the timing, noting that “Most relationships don’t last, and most TV shows don’t last. It eases the impact when things go wrong.”
In 2020, amidst the pandemic, both Nikki Glaser and Chris Convy moved back to their native St. Louis. This move marked a turning point, especially as they filmed her reality show, Welcome Home Nikki Glaser. The relationship became more serious, with Nikki Glaser openly wanting a deeper commitment. In the show’s finale, she questioned their eight-year, on-and-off status, saying, “What are we doing?” While Convy didn’t propose, he humorously asked her to be his emergency contact, a gesture that Glaser viewed as significant progress towards stability.

Chris Convy is an established producer with credits dating back to the early 2000s. His work portfolio includes major award shows like the MTV Video Music Awards, Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards, and the iHeartRadio Music Awards. In recent years, Convy has focused on TV specials, including 2019’s The Little Mermaid Live! and the 2023 special Adam Sandler: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. His collaborative work with Nikki Glaser makes him her frequent creative partner.
The pair have faced unique challenges over their decade-long romance. One recurring issue that led to past breakups was Glaser airing her relationship complaints on her podcast instead of addressing them directly with Nikki Glaser boyfriend Chris Convy.
Glaser revealed in May 2024 that Convy had confronted her, saying, “I don’t recognize who this person is,” which forced her to realize she was being dishonest. She credited him with helping her “stop lying,” noting that while she’s not perfect, she is better, even though she still “fear[s] abandonment.”
Despite past non-monogamy advocacy, Glaser confirmed in 2022 that she was ready to be monogamous, though she has expressed being open to Nikki Glaser boyfriend Chris Convy having casual relationships, as long as they aren’t romantic.
In January 2025, Convy was there to support Nikki Glaser as she hosted the 82nd Golden Globes, attending the official afterparty with her in Los Angeles. Their long-running, if unconventional, relationship continues to evolve, proving their deep connection.
