The new Kia EV4 GT has been revealed ahead of its official debut next year.
Update: For American EV buyers already disappointed by Kia’s decision to postpone the US launch of the EV4 “indefinitely,” citing “changing market conditions”—a polite way of saying “no more federal tax credits”—this news might sting even more.

The recently teased EV4 GT hatchback, shown below, isn’t the only body style of the upcoming performance variant. As new spy photos reveal, Kia is also developing an EV4 GT fastback, which means, yes, that one will also be out of reach for Americans.
This sedan variant promises a more spacious rear section than the hatch thanks to its more traditional silhouette, although the rear styling is anything but traditional.
Despite the heavy camouflage, clear cues indicate this is the GT model. The same chunky tires and tall alloy wheels from the GT hatchback are visible, and behind them, we can see neon green brake calipers. Inside, bright green seatbelts and a matching ring around the steering wheel rim are further indicators.
Everything else applied to the EV4 GT hatch is also present here, including the dual-motor powertrain with nearly 400 horsepower and a performance-tuned chassis.

Kia has subtly revealed the EV4 GT, giving an early look at the model before its official debut in 2026. The performance version of the electric hatchback was shown with a special camouflage wrap that doesn’t hide much of its exterior design.
The GT is expected to feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup and a round of targeted chassis upgrades. Collectively, these are designed to put the EV4 GT squarely in the path of both electric rivals like the VW ID.3 GTX and long-established combustion cars like the Golf R.
The company used the launch of its new GT wrap as a pretext for a series of teasers. The livery features matte grey and neon green stripes with glossy black accents, which Kia describes as a look that “conveys energy and speed.”
This fragmented design theme will also be seen on all electric GT prototypes during later development stages.
Beneath the custom camouflage, the EV4 GT is quite close in shape to the existing GT-Line trim, with only minor differences. At the front, the performance flagship gets vertical slits in the lower bumper intake, giving it a more aggressive look.
From the side, diamond-cut alloy wheels conceal neon-painted brake calipers, while at the rear there’s a GT-specific diffuser with a vertical LED light cluster in the center. This setup resembles the facelifted EV6 GT crossover, showing a family resemblance.
Kia has not yet released interior images, although early glimpses show sporty bucket seats with neon accents.

The real changes will be beneath the surface. According to sources, it will feature a dual-motor AWD powertrain producing around 400 horsepower, along with simulated manual shifting and an artificial rev limiter to provide drivers with more engagement. The long-range FWD variant is expected to feature the familiar 81.4 kWh battery pack as its energy source.
In line with Kia’s GT philosophy, the EV4 GT will have dedicated chassis tuning, including stiffer suspension and a quicker steering ratio for more precise handling and sharper response on winding roads.
Rivals for this Korean model will include the VW ID.3 GTX, Cupra Born VZ, and MG 4 X Power. It will also indirectly compete with ICE-powered hot hatchbacks like the VW Golf R and Toyota GR Corolla. Hyundai is developing its own all-electric performance hatchback, known as the Ioniq 3 N.
Kia has also confirmed that all future GT models will be fully electric, making the current K5 GT the last performance model in the lineup with an internal combustion engine.
